Lord please help us in this time of loss and overwhelming grief, to
comfort the living with hopes for the future, and to remind ourselves of
some of the wonderful memories we have all shared with loved ones: even
now as their shadows brushes pass our continuing existence, and their
spirit embrace eternity, we can tell their story to the generations to
come.
Although we do not understand why life can be with so much
pain and heartache. Our lives would have been empty, if we had not known
our loved ones, their memories will become emblematic treasures, to
share with others the pleasure their lives gave. To be with them, and
challenged by them. Putting up with troubles and worries is part of
life's development process, when we lose friends; we lose more than
property, we lose an intricate part of ourselves.
Our prayer could
be a testimony for others, touched by the feelings, of our infirmities,
our loss; the way we feel, sometimes mere words cannot describe the
agony.
We give all your worries and cares to you God, for you
alone cares about our deepest concerns, you will sustain us and turn the
pain into joy. If we feel that we have no strength left, but only the
will to hold on, even though we are in danger of being overwhelmed by
what is laid upon us. We can cast all our burdens upon the Lord; we may
also look to God for grace and strength, and can feel assured that the
Holy Spirit will comfort our love ones.
Therefore do not worry
about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has
enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34
Heavenly father, bring a
sense of understanding and comfort to us, to the family and friends,
when hands and feet have failed, and lips and mouth have surrendered
their last words, we remember the memories of our love ones when they
are gone, gone far into that silent land. When we can no more day by
day, take their hand, and tell of the future you have planned.
But you can hold our hands and help us to go on till the close of our journey.
We
turn our eyes to you, and look beyond the clouds into that great
immortal home of heaven, where tear drops are not welcome, knowing that
one day God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes, and there shall be
no more crying, neither sorrow, no pain, for the former things will pass
away.
We seek to find the strength to trust in your faithfulness.
And will wait on you not in despair; but in hope, not in anxiety but in
serenity, but if we should forget for a while, and afterwards remember
to pray, then our grief will leave a light glowing in the vestige of the
thoughts we had.
I will quietly wait for your salvation. When my
heart is crushed, I know that you will not abandon me forever. Please
show me your compassion, Lord. Help me through the pain so that I will
hope in you again. I believe this promise in your Word to send me fresh
mercy each day. Though I can't see past today, I am torn and bruise
inside, with only a flicker of smile silently waving, but I trust your
great love will never fail me.
