The motto of the sorority is "By Culture and By Merit". Their colors are Salmon Pink and Apple Green. The AKA symbol is in the shape of an ivy leaf in green. It is also called the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Shield. It has a two hands shaking at the top of the shield. It has the AKA letters in the center of the symbol, written vertically. Surrounding the AKA letters are four images.
